2025 Annual Scholarship Competition: Best in Ohio
Now in its 69th year, Tuesday Musical's 2025 Scholarship Competition will be Saturday, March 22, in Guzzetta Hall at The University of Akron.
Applications will be accepted online here Jan 1 through Feb 1, 2025.
Who's Invited?
Invited to apply each year are music performance and/or music education majors who are Ohio residents or studying with a music teacher at an Ohio college or university. Categories include music education, brass, classical guitar, organ, piano, marimba/classical steel drum, strings, voice, and woodwinds.
Hailed as the best in Ohio, the adjudicated competition provides support for talented university and college students embarking on careers as music educators and performers.
29 scholarships are available ranging from $750 to $2,000 each. In 2025, we will award a record-breaking total of $41,050!
The first- and second-place winners in the performance categories will be invited to perform in the competition’s Final Round/Winners Concert on Sunday, May 4, 2:30 p.m. at The University of Akron’s Guzzetta Recital Hall, 157 University Ave.
Two additional adjudicated scholarships — one for $1,000 and one for $2,000 — will be awarded. The audience will also pick the winner of the John M. Ream Jr. DDS People's Choice Award of $500.
The May 4 Final Round/Winners Concert and post-concert reception are free and open to the public.
