Two new scholarships announced
The creation of two new scholarships was announced during the May 21 program. The William Bingham Foundation has awarded $40,000 to Tuesday Musical to endow a new music education scholarship of $1,000 annually, bringing the number of scholarships in that category to three, and a new fourth-place piano scholarship of $750 annually, the competition’s first fourth-place award. Tuesday Musical will begin awarding both scholarships starting with the 68th Annual Scholarship Competition in March 2024.
Based in Cleveland and with trustees around the country, the William Bingham Foundation awards grants throughout the United States in the fields of education, science, health and human services, and the arts. It was founded in 1955 by Elizabeth Bingham Blossom in memory of her brother.
