One of Broadway’s Most Decorated Stars — Ever

With a record-breaking six Tonys, two Grammys, and an Emmy, Audra McDonald is unparalleled as both a singer and an actor. She is renowned for her “luminous” soprano voice (with a unique ability to hold audiences spellbound) and her profound gift for dramatic truth-telling. From Broadway favorites to Great American Songbook classics, spend a special Saturday evening with an artist at the absolute pinnacle of her powers.

About Audra McDonald

With charm and charisma that reach across the footlights and hold an audience spellbound, Audra McDonald is unparalleled in the breadth and versatility of her artistry as both a singer and an actor. She's won a record-breaking six Tony Awards (the most performance wins of any actor), two Grammy Awards, and an Emmy Award.

From 2024-25, Audra starred as the ultimate stage mother, Rose, in a boundary-breaking Broadway revival of the classic musical Gypsy. She brought a revelatory acting-heavy performance to the role, allowing her voice to soar during the climactic "Rose's Turn". Critics noted that casting a Black woman in the role of Rose added layers of subtext regarding a mother forced to navigate compromised choices and hustle for the American Dream.

In 2015, Audra was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people and received the National Medal of Arts—America’s highest honor for achievement in the field—from President Barack Obama.

In addition to her theatrical work, she maintains a major career as a concert and recording artist, regularly appearing on the great stages of the world.

About the
Performance

Audra will announce her program from the stage that evening, joined by a five-piece ensemble.

“If there is a more complete singing-and-acting talent than Audra McDonald, I can’t think of one. For a generation, she has poured her heart out and done so with such vocal and dramatic authority it is difficult to imagine what we did before she came along.”
