Ann Hampton Callaway - Fuze
Golden age of silver screen love songs
Tony-nominated, Platinum Award-winning singer-songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway is bringing her Jazz Goes To The Movies to the intimate club setting of EJ Thomas Hall’s Stage Door.
Don’t miss this fabulous evening with one of the best jazz singers of our time.
“As Time Goes By,” the Herman Hupfeld classic from Casablanca, and “Taking a Chance on Love” from Vernon Duke’s Cabin in the Sky are on the playlist. So are “Let’s Face the Music and Dance” from Irving Berlin’s Follow the Fleet and “This Time the Dream’s on Me” from Harold Arlen’s Blues in the Night.
She’ll also perform jazz songs she has recorded for films, including “Come Rain or Come Shine” from The Good Shepherd starring Robert DeNiro, “The Nearness of You” from Last Holiday starring Queen Latifah, and “Pourquoi,” a song she wrote for the 2017 film Blind, starring Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore.
Savor Hollywood’s love songs from the 1930s and 1940s — beloved gems that gave people dreams when they needed them most — with this legendary singer who delivers vocal tour-de-force performances marked by refined beauty, subtlety, grandeur, profound musicality and passion.
