Executive Director

About the Job

Akron, Ohio based 132- year- old Tuesday Musical Association seeks individual with a passion for classic music and solid experience in performing arts program management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages day-to-day operations
  • Works with the Board President and Board to establish goals and objectives as outlined in the Strategic Plan
  • Develops and manages the concert series with committee and board approval
  • Develops and implements educational outreach activities
  • Works with the Treasurer and Board President to prepare and oversee a $700,000 budget and assures operations follow budgetary guidelines
  • Assures that Board President and appropriate Board members are alerted to any issues, internal or external, that require board action.
  • Manages and directs staff of three assuring their performance meets established goals and expectations
  • Works with the President and Development/Marketing director to plan strategic programs to increase membership and donor base, build audiences, and increase visibility in the community
  • Provides leadership in donor relations, annual fund campaign and grant development
  • Represents Tuesday Musical in the community and all other settings

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Arts Management or related field preferred
  • Minimum five years of experience in Arts Management
  • Knowledge and experience planning classical music concert series
  • Knowledge of international/national performers, management companies and contract negotiation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven management abilities
  • Compensation:
  • Salary - $55,000 - $60,000
  • Generous benefits package
