Audience ReviewsI have seen Chanticleer several times before, but last night they were superb. With all the young people in the crowd it was actually an electrifying experience. What a joy to see the young people enjoying the concert so much. They are the future of classical music, and we need to expose many more to our treasured music. I can't remember when a concert was so joyously received.
Dana Gechoff - Ricardo Sepulveda, October 14, 2009 Well, I can hardly find adjectives superlative enough! What a glorious concert! The entire performance was over the top. As I left the hall I could hear people marveling at the experience. So many aspects of the program were intriguing...moving into different formations with the changing nuances of the song, that heartbreaking "Summertime" solo, the enchanting rhythms, all those mysterious sounds. This is a musical experience I will always remember. Completely unique!
Pat Sargent - Ricardo Sepulveda, October 14, 2009 Thank you for providing our region with such an amazing musical experience. I couldn't help but think after the concert that it makes the list of my TOP THREE cultural experiences for 2009! I was transported to another realm last evening. The Mason Bates piece left me speechless. It truly was "simply stunning."
Susan D. Van Vorst - Ricardo Sepulveda, October 14, 2009 One of the things I enjoy about Tuesday Musical Club performances is the opportunity to see and hear the very best.
Chanticleer is one of the very best. Their singing is amazing. Thanks for inviting them once again. Dick Lott - Ricardo Sepulveda, October 14, 2009 Chanticleer was an amazing performance; they are so talented and work so hard. Chanticleer is so well deserving of all the attention they receive. The energy of the performers radiated throughout the audience. It was a wonderful evening!
Bob Fischer - Ricardo Sepulveda, October 14, 2009 Once again this extraordinary group has done it! Their singing - and non-singing sounds - is seamless. It is as though one voice with many different sounds is coming out of them. I have heard a lot of men's choruses and smaller groups, but Chanticleer is by far the best and most amazing. The concert was soul-satisfying.
Lola Rothmann - Ricardo Sepulveda, October 14, 2009 Hi, We loved the concert! We liked the overall theme, selection of individual pieces, and the group’s stage presence. They really put forth an effort to connect with the audience with great success. It was “Simply Stunning” to share this concert experience with so many young people. What a success story for our educational outreach mission.
Don and Corrinne Rohrbacher - Ricardo Sepulveda, October 14, 2009 I see this whole Chanticleer experience as a high point for TMA. Their singing Tuesday night took me to a place far removed from the concert hall. I think I felt myself just lift up out of my seat a few times.
Betty Sloan - Ricardo Sepulveda, October 14, 2009 Thank you for inviting Chanticleer back to Akron this year! Their sound defies words...it was truly beautiful! As a music teacher, I was so pleased to be part of the youthful energy in the audience and to share their experience of what "cool" men's voices should sound like.
Again, thank you to Tuesday Musical for making this possible for the community! Barb Warrington - Ricardo Sepulveda, October 14, 2009 This was the third time we have heard Chanticleer and it was everything we anticipated, and more. They are not only excellent musicians they are fun to meet and talk with. Imagine our delight when they remembered that there were here in our little town of Greensburg, PA just two years ago! We're so glad that they were included in the "Simply Stunning" concert series. It was also enriching to hear the before concert talk with Matt Oltmann of Chanticleer, and Mason Bates as he talked about his music. What an evening! Well worth the travel from Pittsburgh, PA. We look forward to upcoming concerts.
