Instruments to be collected tonight for needy studentsAkron Beacon Jounal - May 6th, 2008WAPS radio will have a table at Tuesday Musical program at E.J Thomas HallTuesday Musical has partnered with WAPS (91.3-FM) to provide musical instruments to students who can't afford them. At tonight's piano rectal by Garrick Ohlsson, Tommy Bruno of WAPS will accept instrument donations, Bruno will have a table set up in the E.J. Thomas Hall lobby. If you have a clarinet languishing in your closet, this might be the time to find it a new home. The instruments don't have to be in perfect condition. The Taylor Band and Orchestra music store will repair them before passing them along. Ohlsson, a repeat performer on the Tuesday Musical series, will play music of Prokofiev, Chopin, Justin Dello Joio and Rachmaninoff for his recital, which begins at 7:30 tonight.
