Maya Beiser, described by the The New Yorker as a “cello goddess” mesmerized the audience during her performance as part of the 2009 inaugural FUZE! series. The New York based, Israeli born cellist returns to Akron with renowned Argentine, Latin Grammy-winning pianist and composer Pablo Ziegler, hailed by Stereo Review as “the outstanding representative of the nuevo tango in his generation.” The two will present a collaborative, sonic exploration of the nature of “canyengue” – provocative, raw, earthy and sensual – the true soul of Buenos Aires tango.
