Tuesday Musical Association and the Akron Art Museum are eager to once again present a fresh series of cutting-edge performances by world-class, classically trained musicians during the 2010 FUZE! concert series. Testing new musical frontiers by fusing standard repertoire with works by contemporary composers, this year's performers are sure to carry on the sensation of the sold-out 2009 series.

First on the bill is Haitian-American artist Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR). The New York Times described DBR as "about as omnivorous as a contemporary artist gets." An innovative composer, violinist and band leader, DBR has collaborated with an impressive array of artists, orchestras and chamber ensembles, from projects for the Sphinx Commissioning Consortium, Imani Winds and the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra to pop princess Lady Gaga. DBR melds his classical music roots with his own cultural references and vibrant musical imagination.

Tickets are $25 for TMA and AAM members, $30 for non-members and $15 for students with valid ID (plus convenience fee). Tickets will be available on the day of the show for an additional $5. Free hors d’ouevres and cash bar will be available following the concert. Purchase tickets above or call 330.376.9186 x268.

Hear DBR's music on his MySpace page.
